Andrew and Kirsten travelled up to St Andrews in Scotland for a concert on the 4th February which included two of his works - “Variations Towards a Theme” for two trumpets and live electronics, and “To a Walrus” for two trumpets, and a pianist who also plays percussion. The first piece was performed by John Wallace and John Miller, with Andrew and Kirsten providing the live electronics and sound projection, the second, a world première - performed by Bede Williams and John Miller on trumpets, and Andrew on piano/percussion. The second half of the concert was taken up wth music written by Randy Brecker. The concert was part of the University’s “New Music Week."

The two pieces were then recorded on the two following days in the St Andrews music department’s studio, by the same musicians, with Kirsten engineering. The performances are being mixed and edited at the moment, and will be added to the recording of “Ritual”, done in Glasgow at the end of last October. The final work “Within Those Radiances…” for brass quintet and live electronics, will be recorded shortly by The Wallace Collection quintet: the CD will then be released. Further information on this will follow….

The Flip Kowlier album, recorded last year, is now due to be released in April - the single, “September” (which is also the title track of the album) reached no 6 in the Belgian charts.

Andrew has been in regular contact with David Paton about their co-writing and recording project, but as they are both so busy at the moment - Andrew with his editing and pre-production for his brass CD, and David with his new Pilot CD (due for release next month - look out for it!) they are planning to re-start on the project in a couple of month’s time.
